Most certification bodies won't tell you what certification costs until you've filled in a form and taken a sales call. We publish our prices. All costs are fixed and agreed up front, there are no unexpected extras added along the way, and you are not tied into a long-term contract.

Our certification fees

Audit and certification, completed by an IRCA qualified lead auditor, with your certificate and certification marks issued on successful completion.

Standards covered Initial audit and certification Certification renewal
1 standard£750*£670**
or £56 / month
2 standards£890*£810**
or £68 / month
3 standards£1,030*£950**
or £80 / month

*This is the total cost, not a cost per standard. Two standards audited together are £890 in total, not £890 each. All costs are exclusive of VAT at 20%.

**The discounted renewal rate applies when a multiple-year certification term is agreed and certification terms were met in full at the previous audit. Renewal rates are also a total cost, not a cost per standard.

What the price includes

  • Management systems audit by an IRCA qualified lead auditor, onsite, remotely or a combination of both.
  • The audit report, with recommendation for certification.
  • Your certificate(s) and certification mark(s) on successful completion.
  • Free access to alphaZ documents and updates.
  • No travel charges, no admin fees, no surprises at invoice time.

No long-term contract

You are not locked in. If you would rather not commit to a multiple-year term, we issue a one year certificate and you decide each year whether to carry on. The discounted renewal rates above are there if you do want to agree a longer term, but there is no obligation to, and no commitment beyond the year you have paid for.

What can change the price

We keep it simple, but a few things genuinely add work, so they add cost. The prices above assume the audit completes in one audit day. Where more than 3 standards, multiple sites, additional audit days or additional audit team members are needed, we prepare a costed proposal so you still know the full figure before you commit.

Two standards are counted differently because of their complexity. ISO 27001 counts as 2 standards, so £890 for initial certification. ISO 22458 counts as 3, so £1,030.

How payment and scheduling work

Certification costs are paid in advance of the audit date. The monthly renewal figures shown above are only available where payment is made by direct debit.

Once booked, your audit can be rescheduled at no charge up to 21 working days before the scheduled date, as set out in our audit rescheduling policy. Ongoing certification is subject to an annual surveillance audit, scheduled around the anniversary of your initial certification. The renewal rates above cover this annual audit, and there are no other ongoing fees.

The certification process

  1. We receive your application for certification.
  2. We issue your invoice for the certification audit.
  3. We assign your auditor and book your audit date.
  4. Audit fees are paid in full before the audit date.
  5. Audit completed successfully. Your audit report, certification mark(s) and certificate(s) are issued.

Certification is awarded on successful completion of the audit, with the lead auditor's recommendation and approval of the audit report.

UKAS-accredited certification, and the hybrid option

isoassured is an independent certification body. The prices above are for certification issued by us, which is what most organisations need and what most customers and tenders ask for.

Some contracts and tenders specifically require UKAS-accredited certification. A large part of our work is helping clients achieve that through third-party UKAS-accredited bodies. We cannot publish fixed prices for that route because the fees are set by the UKAS body, not by us. They vary with your headcount, your number of sites and which body you use, it is usually a good deal more expensive, and quotes vary widely between bodies for the same business.

You do not have to pick one route for everything. Where only one of your standards has to be UKAS-accredited, which is often the case when a single contract names it, we can arrange UKAS-accredited certification for that standard and certify the rest ourselves. You meet the contract requirement without paying UKAS rates across your whole management system.

If you are not sure which route you need, ask us. It usually comes down to whether a specific customer or tender names UKAS. Where we do arrange the UKAS route, we help you get quotes, compare them on a like-for-like basis, and prepare so the audit days stay at the minimum. There is more on how the two routes work on our about page.

Need help getting ready first?

If your management system needs work before an audit, we also provide consultancy and training to get you audit-ready. Ask about this when you get in touch. Or if you would rather do it yourself, the alphaZ documents give you what you need to build and run your own system.
